1.  When we get there, where do we park?

Click on this link.  http://tinyurl.com/4keln7  The place markers on the map have the details.

2.  Can we park in the alley next to the Varsity or in the Erik’s Bike Shop parking spots?
No. Unfortunately, we can’t provide any guest artist parking. Erik’s Bike Shop
will tow your vehicle if you park in any of their spots. You can only briefly park in the
alley for 10 minutes while unloading. Do Not Block Access to and from the Alley.

3.  Who do we contact to advance our show at the Varsity?

-Shayna Melgaard, our Theater Operations & Production Manager.  Please email her.

advance(at)varsitytheater(dot)org

-If the show was booked by an outside promoter, first contact them, and then touch

base with Shayna about your load-in time.

4.  Do you have wireless internet?

Yes, and it does not need a password.

5.  Do you have a shower?

Not yet, but hopefully we will soon.

6.  What hotel do you recommend?

We recommend the University Inn because it is just 4 blocks away and is very reasonable.

Contact Stacy Hinkemeyer for a discount if you playing the Varsity.

7.  Where can we find technical specs and stage size?

  Click on this link. http://www.varsitytheater.org/VarsityTheaterVenueSpecs.html

Stage Size is roughly 32' wide by 24' deep by 3' high.  If you need a stage diagram

email advance(at)varsitytheater(dot)org

8.  What is the ceiling height at your venue?
17 ft from the floor to the lighting grid, 14 ft from the stage to the lighting grid.

9.  Can we smoke in the downstairs greenrooms?
Nope, sorry. It is against Minneapolis law. Please don’t smoke downstairs or
anyplace else inside the Varsity Theater.

10.  Is there shore power available where our bus will be parked?
No, but you will be fine running your generator all day & night.

11.  Do you have a piano in-house?
Yes, but it is a very old upright piano in pretty rough condition. The action on the piano is very stiff which means that you must play the keys extremely hard in order to get a reasonable sound.  We have found that the piano works okay for "kitchy" vintage sounding songs, but not for any serious modern style piano playing.
