Unless otherwise noted, events at the Varsity Theater are general admission standing room. Some shows offer reserved and VIP experiences, but these are often in limited ticket quantities. Advance Tickets for Varsity Theater events are available through our online vendor TicketWeb; which can be accessed by clicking the "Buy Tickets" button anywhere on this site, or by heading directly to our TicketWeb page. If, for any reason, you are experiencing problems with purchasing your tickets online, please contact TicketWeb’s customer support at 1-866-468-3399. Please note that certain events may use a different online ticketing outlet than ours, but know that the links on this page are the official ticketing links for the event in question.
Additionally, advance Tickets for most Varsity Theater events are available for in-person purchase at The Loring Pasta Bar, located a half block east of the theater at 327 14th Avenue Southeast in Minneapolis, from 12-8pm seven days a week. Tickets for select shows are also available at The Electric Fetus (located at 2000 4th Avenue South in Minneapolis), and at Down In The Valley (located at 8020 Olson Memorial Highway in Golden Valley) during their normal business hours. Please note that our outlets may not have the tickets you are looking for, so call ahead to check their ticket availability.
Advance and Day Of Show Tickets can also be purchased directly at the Varsity Theater Box Office, starting at 3pm on all scheduled show days, pending on ticket availability. The Varsity Theater Box Office accepts cash and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, and American Express - No Discover).
Will-Call Tickets may be picked up at The Varsity starting at 3pm the day of the show. You must have your TicketWeb confirmation number or confirmation email, the credit card used to purchase the tickets, and a photo I.D. to claim your tickets. Print at home tickets through TicketWeb bypases this step.
Line-up for entry begins outside the theater no earlier than 1 hour prior to doors (i.e. for a show with 7pm doors, line-up for entry begins at 6pm, and so forth). Out of respect for our neighboring businesses, we will turn away any and all patrons that line-up outside of the venue before the appointed time of 1 hour before doors. For more on this and other house policies, please click here.
Transferring a Will Call ticket to another name requires the ticket purchaser to appear in person at the box office (with photo I.D. and credit card used) prior to the event to make the change. The box office cannot accept phone calls, emails, or hand-written permissions from the purchaser, including forwarded order confirmation numbers or other copied personal information. THIS IS FOR THE PROTECTION OF OUR TICKET BUYERS. In some cases, you may contact TicketWeb directly to make a name change for a gift purchase.
Tickets are not replaceable and should be treated as cash. Refunds or reprints are not available.
Tickets should always be purchased from our box office or from an authorized Varsity Theater ticket agent: The Loring Pasta Bar, The Electric Fetus, Down In The Valley, or online at TicketWeb. If tickets are purchased from anyone or anywhere else, they could be counterfeit or stolen and therefore will not be honored. The unauthorized sale of tickets, or 'scalping' is not permitted on the grounds of the Varsity Theater. Anyone who is attempting to 'sell' tickets at any price (even if it's being sold below face value) will be asked to leave the premises.
All age restricted shows (16+, 18+, 21+, etc.) require a valid state or government issued photo I.D. or passport for admission.
A valid state or government issued photo I.D. or passport stating that a patron is 21 years of age or older is always required for those patrons wishing to purchase and consume alcohol at the theater. The Varsity Theater has a Zero-Tolerance alcohol and substance policy.
